InStyle Thin Surface
Narrower than InStyle's standard thin surface extrusion, this surface-mounted aluminium profile is suitable for any of InStyle’s 8mm-wide LED products (5W/10W white & single-colour strip lights).
This extrusion is designed to enable installation in smaller or more obstructed locations. Dimensions are 12mm (width) and 7.5mm (depth). Like other aluminium extrusions, the 8mm thin surface extrusion can be easily cut / trimmed, and lengths can be butted together to give a continuous effect.
The extrusion’s frosted acrylic cover diffuses the spotting effect of individual LEDs to emit a continuous band of light. This makes it ideal for use in highly visible locations.
Fixing your LED tape into an extrusion can create a more ‘finished’ look when compared to the unhoused PCB – which is ideal if the product is clearly on show. Extrusions can help to prevent contact damage if the LED tape is positioned easily within reach. And even though they are not waterproof, extrusions can help prevent moisture. (To provide more protection against water, consider installing IP67 LED tape in the extrusions.)
InStyle's 8mm thin surface-mount extrusions are available in 1m or 2m lengths as standard. You can simply cut the extrusion the length you require using a hack saw.
Extrusions can be fixed into place using countersink screws, straight into the extrusion.
