July 5, 2023
Just Add Power's MaxColor 4K60 Series 2 transmitters and receivers were awarded Best of Show at InfoComm 2023 by AV Technology magazine. The MC-TX2 transmitter and MC-RX2 receiver of the new series support 4K60Hz in and out, enabling HDR video playback, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats, with the increasing number of Ultra 4K sources and devices available in the market. The MaxColor Series 2 also won Best of Show at ISE 2023 in Barcelona, as recognised by Sound & Video Contractor magazine.
Taft Stricklin, chief sales officer at Just Add Power, expressed his delight at receiving the Best of Show recognition for the MaxColor Series 2 at InfoComm. He highlighted the positive response from customers and colleagues and emphasised that the series maintains the philosophy of delivering premium features, high performance, and exceptional quality without exceeding installers' budgets.
The MaxColor Series 2 builds upon the features of the MaxColor Series 1 products while adding even more capabilities to support robust applications. These solutions facilitate the distribution of 4K60/4:4:4/36-bit colour video over a 1GB managed network using existing Cat X (Cat 5e minimum) cable or over 10G fiber cable. This flexibility allows integrators to select the cable that best suits their projects. The series also incorporates power over USB-C, enabling KVM support or the transmission of a USB web camera signal over IP. The new ARC feature from Just Add Power simplifies audio transmission between MaxColor 2 receivers, making project design more convenient and flexible. Audio from a TV connected to a MaxColor 2 receiver can be sent across the network to another MaxColor 2 receiver, which can then be connected to an audio-video receiver or another ARC-enabled amplifier.
The MaxColor 4K60 Series 2 transmitter and receiver offer an affordable and scalable 4K UHD distribution platform that natively supports current 4K source content, ensuring high frame rates over existing network infrastructures. They provide high-frame-rate, deep-colour, and 4:4:4 chroma support, eliminating subsampling or downscaling discrepancies between the source and the screen output. The series guarantees zero detectable latency, seamless switching, 4K up- and downscaling, and HDR management while supporting all lossless audio formats, as well as HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision for an optimal viewing experience. Additionally, the series includes features such as image pop, push, pull, and integrated control.
